Why Surrealism?

I create surreal art because I want to play with reality. There are endless possibilities. If I see a limit, then I want to over come it with perception. Surrealism is a style that allows the mind to play. Society loves to categorize every style. But this style is evolving even past its initial founder’s goals.

Do I draw realistically? Yes. I love drawing from life. This helps me practice observational drawing. I look around and see opportunities to create surreal art. I appreciate what is in front of me. But I also envision what I want to see. Anything is possible!

If I can create surreal art, I can create my own reality. I take abstract ideas and physically create them through art. Any idea can be brought into our physical reality.
